ZIP & RAR Extractor  |  Effective: August 11, 2026  |  Last updated: August 11, 2026

ZIP & RAR Extractor works entirely on your device. It has no server, makes no network requests, contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software, and has no user accounts. Your files never leave your device, and we never see them.

1. Who We Are and How to Contact Us

This Privacy Policy explains how A2GROUP LLC (“A2GROUP”, “we”, “our”, “us”) handles information in connection with the ZIP & RAR Extractor application for iOS, iPadOS and macOS (the “App”). A2GROUP LLC is the data controller for the limited processing described below.

2. What We Collect

We collect nothing. The App does not ask for, transmit or store your name, email address, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos, location, advertising identifier, device identifier or any account credentials. There is no sign-up, no login and no user account.

The App contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no attribution or tracking SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK of our own. It does not perform any network request of its own and does not communicate with any server operated by us — we operate no server for the App.

2.1 Your files stay on your device

All archive extraction, compression, preview, renaming and deletion happens locally, on your device, using on-device code. The archives you open and the files you extract or create are stored only in the App's own sandboxed storage on your device (and, if you choose to move them there, in Files or iCloud Drive under your own control).

We do not receive, upload, transmit, copy, scan, index, read, retain or have any technical means of accessing your files, their names, their contents or the passwords you enter to open protected archives. A password you type to open an encrypted archive is used in memory to decrypt that archive and is not transmitted anywhere.

2.2 Settings stored on your device

The App saves your preferences and your purchase state (for example, whether the Pro unlock has been purchased) locally on your device using standard Apple storage. This information stays on the device, may be included in your own iCloud or iTunes device backup under Apple's terms, and is deleted when you delete the App.

3. Purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional features. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using Apple's StoreKit framework. Apple — not A2GROUP LLC — is the merchant of record.

We never receive, see or store your payment card details, your Apple ID, your billing address or your name. The App only reads, from Apple's on-device StoreKit interface, whether the purchase associated with your Apple ID is active, so that it can unlock the corresponding features. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

4. Information Apple Collects Independently of Us

Apple collects certain information as the operator of the App Store and of your device's operating system — for example download and purchase records, and, if you have enabled “Share With App Developers” in your device's Analytics settings, aggregated crash and usage statistics. That collection is Apple's, is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, and is outside our control. Where Apple makes such reports available to us, they are aggregated and anonymous, are not linked to your identity, and we use them only to fix bugs and improve stability. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

5. If You Contact Us

If you email us for support, we receive the email address you write from and whatever information you choose to include in your message, including any screenshot or diagnostic detail you attach. We use it solely to answer you and to investigate the issue you report. We keep support correspondence for up to 24 months and then delete it, unless a longer period is required to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Please do not send us confidential documents, payment details or archive passwords — we do not need them.

6. Why We Process It, and Our Legal Basis (EEA and UK)

Because the App collects nothing, the only processing we carry out is of support correspondence you voluntarily send us. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies:

We do not carry out profiling or automated decision-making producing legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not process special categories of personal data.

7. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell, rent, licence, trade or share your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising or for any advertising purpose. We have no advertising partners and no data brokers.

The only third parties involved are:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so by a valid legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety or property, or those of a user or the public. Because we hold no user data, such a request would in practice yield nothing beyond support correspondence, if any exists. If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, any information we hold may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

8. International Transfers

A2GROUP LLC is established in the United States. If you contact us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your correspondence is transferred to and stored in the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and on supplementary measures where appropriate. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards by writing to contact@a2group.llc.

9. Retention and Deletion

Data stored on your device (settings, extracted files, purchase state) is retained on your device until you delete it or delete the App, and is under your control at all times — we cannot delete it for you, because we cannot reach it. Support correspondence is retained as described in section 5.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws additionally have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose requiring an opt-out. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.

To exercise a right, email contact@a2group.llc. We respond within 30 days (or 45 days where US state law allows, with notice). Because we hold no account and no identifiers, we usually cannot associate any data with you; in that case we will tell you so, and the fastest way to erase everything is to delete the App from your device.

If you are in the EEA or the UK you may complain to your local data-protection authority; in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es), and in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

11. Children

The App is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that threshold), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, no such collection occurs. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The App uses no cookies, no software development kits with tracking capability, no web beacons, no fingerprinting and no advertising identifiers, and it does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. This website serves static pages and sets no cookies and no analytics.

13. Security

The strongest protection here is architectural: data that is never collected cannot be breached. Your files remain within the App's sandbox, protected by iOS and macOS file-system encryption and by your device passcode or password. We keep our support systems protected with access controls and multi-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your device updated and passcode-protected.

14. Third-Party Links

This site and the App may link to third-party sites, such as Apple's. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Read their policies before providing information to them.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will provide additional notice in the App where practicable. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Policy.
